چکیده

The spatial and temporal distributions, contamination evaluation, source apportionment of Cu, Zn, As, Pb, Cd, Cr in the sediments Hulun Lake were explored this work. pollution characteristics six heavy metals assessed by single factor index (PI) geo-accumulation (Igeo). sources surface analyzed positive definite matrix factorization (PMF) Pearson correlation analysis. sedimentary records core reproduced radioisotopes. average concentrations 6 except Cd lower than corresponding background values. distributions Cr, As generally similar showed higher abundances southwestern part lake. With use import metals, concentration increased with fluctuation years. peak metal was related to high growth rate gross domestic product 2003-2008. geo accumulation results that sediment mainly polluted followed Zn As. Natural parent material, agricultural activities industrial main sediments, accounting for 17.03%, 26.34%, 56.63% total accumulation, respectively. Pb derived from natural material. closely associated activities. Cu attributed mining Source ecological risks illustrated primary ecosystem risk (66.1%), (23.75%) (10.15%). will also provide reference data future studies other lakes.

Occurrence, risk assessment, and source apportionment of heavy metals in surface sediments from Khanpur Lake, Pakistan

Background: The present study was carried out to assess the seasonal variations, source apportionment, and risk assessment of heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb, and Zn) in the surface sediments from the Khanpur Lake, Pakistan. Methods: Composite samples are collected and processed to measure the concentrations of heavy metals in Ca(NO3)2 extract and acid extract of the sediments using flame ...

Distributions, Sources and Contamination Assessment of Some Heavy Metals in Intertidal Surface Sediments of Khor-e-Yekshabeh Mangrove Estuary in Persian Gulf

The water quality of the Persian Gulf is influenced by various industrial and urban discharges. The study area is a small linked estuary with the Straits of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf. This study was conducted to evaluate anthropogenic assessment, pollution status and potential ecological risk of some heavy metals (Pb,Ni, Zn, and Fe) in intertidal surface sediments of a mangrove estua...

Spatio-temporal trends of heavy metals and source apportionment in Tolo Harbour, Hong Kong

This study provided a picture of the spatial and temporal distributions of Cr, Co, Ni Cu, Zn, As, Cd and Pb in bottom sediments of Tolo Harbour. The concentrations of the eight heavy metals differed significantly between sites due to the poor tidal flushing in Tolo Harbour. The levels of Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb were generally enriched in sediments from inner Tolo Harbour, while sediments from outer T...
